INTERNATIONAL WOMEN AND JUSTICE SUMMIT
“AI AND WOMEN” WORKING GROUP PLAN
As part of our ongoing mission, we have been organizing the “International Women and Justice Summit” every two years since 2014, aiming to bring a global perspective to women’s issues and to develop solutions. The sixth summit, taking place on November 8-9 in collaboration with Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services, will center on the theme of ‘Artificial Intelligence and Women”. In this context, we aim to comprehensively discuss how advancements in the age of artificial intelligence can contribute to a fairer and more equitable future for women.
Prior to the summit, we plan to create a working group with experts interested in this topic to explore different perspectives and conduct preparatory work leading up to the summit. The aim is to establish an awareness group on artificial intelligence and justice, and to integrate the group’s findings into the summit’s conclusions, producing implementation proposals and reports for relevant authorities.
The working group is scheduled to meet online bi-weekly in September and October, with one physical meeting planned in Istanbul in October. Prior to each meeting, a set of reading materials, including key articles and recent news on AI ethics and justice, will be shared with participants. These materials are designed to ensure participants come prepared and engage in productive discussions.
The first meeting in September will serve as an introduction, where participants will get to know each other and share their areas of expertise, as well as their initial impressions from the reading set. Subsequent meetings will focus on pre-determined questions that will guide discussions on summit sessions. This approach aims to develop in-depth analyses and generate recommendations for the summit sessions.
